30mm vs. 1" scope tube?
What i the difference in mounting a 1" tube vs. a 30mm? Is there any great difference or is it just preference? Can the same rings be used or will it foul during mounting or not even fit at all?
I'm confused! Please help! Thanks, F-C

30mm or 1" is the diameter of the scope tube.
You have to get the correct rings for your scope tube. You can get ring diameter reducers to put a 1" scope in 30mm rings. A 30mm tube can possibly perform better in low light. |

The 30mm scopes provide for more windage and elevation adjustment travel, compared to the 1" tube scopes, everything else being equal; like similar glass/coatings, exit pupil, etc.
30mm scopes have nothing else going for them. Martyn

I ain't gonna research it now but !" is about 25mm, so, NO, the rings are not interchangeable.
The 30mm scopes are largely irrelivant to hunters. |

I have a 30MM scope which came on a rifle I bought. I compared it to my 1" scopes and I really can't see any difference such as increased light, better image etc.
