Quick Help on a Combat Commander.
Whats the guide rod length for OEM part?

They don't have guide rods, to my knowledge.
Unless Colt has started adding them recently. |

Thanks bill,
I thought it's still called a guide rod, Maybe not,….. lets call it a Recoil spring guide, Not the the full length after market critters. I have several standard length ones, I am going to cut one and shape it for a Commander slide I have. If it indeed is shorter. I'm guessing it would be. Thanks |

The Commander guide is shorter, but cutting one off isn't a good idea.
The end of the guide is formed into a rounded shape to prevent catching on the recoil spring. Cutting one off leaves a squared off end that can catch. The tube isn't thick enough to allow just beveling it. Better to just buy one, they aren't expensive. |

Thanks, I have some very old Heavy ones, A couple (If I can find them)
are solid. But, I need to order a new Spring any way, So......I guess I'll Throw one in. again, Thanks |
