Can you Remove the new Remington "Safety" with Internal Lock ?
Can you Remove the new Remington "Safety" with Internal Lock ?
Just curious if you can install an old safety or a wilson combat jumbo head safety... thanks for the help guys, wanting to purchase a Remington Marine Magnum but hate locking devices that are not my choice.

Never done it but I have heard several times that it is completely possible
Wilson was selling the old style stock safety that they removed out of guns they modified really cheap a while back |

Sure. No problem. I have done dozens. Just remove the trigger group and push out the little retaining pin at the rear behind the trigger guard. It is best to do this over a towel so you don't loose the parts. If it isn't obvious how this works, it would be better to leave it to someone who knows what they are doing.
Some people use the existing plunger and spring when they install the new safety, but I have found that it works better if the old style spring and ball are used. All these parts are available. Just ask me.

I seem to recall hearing that Brownell's will sell you the appropriate swap-out parts?

There is an article on this website about removing the PC safety on the 870.
