1873 uberti cattleman firing pin loose
So i have a problem i was looking at my cattleman last night and i found that the firing pin in the hammer has alot of play in it. Im pretty sure its not suppose to be that way. In need of some advise. Ive shot the gun alot and i am just a little worried at this time. If anyone has any ideas they would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

A little play in the firing pin is normal. That's so that it can center itself in the hole in the frame as the hammer falls. I don't know if that's because of the tolerance limitations back in the day or as a compensation for wear, but it's normal.
