Question about sluging

Hope this is the right place to ask

I put a slug through each end of my barrel on my springer XD 45 auto. both slugs read .450 on the chamber end and .451 on the muzle, so what size die and mold am I supposed to get? And what about the Lee sizing dies that go in your regular press?

Thanks

Most molds will drop at 452, so probably don't need a sizing die. Get the mold, measure the 'boolit', then buy the die if you still want to. Oh, and it sounds like you'll be fine with 452.

I have a 358 sizing die for my Lee press. It works fine, even though my boolits drop at 362. I just hit them with something like silicone spray first.

BTW a caveat about the lee 452-228-1r mold. The ogive is just one radius and some guns have trouble chambering it at 'normal' OAL's. I have to load mine pretty short before it chambers, and back off on the powder charge accordingly.
