Pictures

Great pictures, thank you for posting them. I enjoyed looking at them. That is some great looking country. I have always wanted to go. I now have the money to go, but my health will not take the trip. My one goal has been to go on a Lion hunt. This is one of the few things I have always wanted to do, but didn't do. Tom.

First - Congratulations. I hope you had a great trip.

Second - Which rifle is ported? .338? .375? It looks like it has a Mauser crossbolt and got my attention. I am curious...

Third - Congratulations, again. You took some nice animals.

First & Foremost: Welcome home!

Looks like you had a great trip. And you spent some serious money too. Do they still "price" greater Kudu by the length of the horns?

You have some great photos too. I love your ferocious and fearless hunting dog too. You really must give us at least a couple of hunting stories to match the photos!

It wasn't that expensive. A 10 day, 8 days for hunting trip can be done for >9K. I used a Remmy 700 in 338 Win Mag. I wish Id brought my 243 also. A 270 would have worked fine for all the shooting I did.
HUNTINGRAS@GMAIL IS Rich's email. Hes a Farmer 200 days out of the year and hunts for 100 days.

When we were looking into it, the PH suggested we should bring a light rifle and a heavy rifle. When told that I'd be using a 7mm Remington Mag, he said that was a fine "light" rifle. I ended up short of funds and decided not to go. Everytime I see pics of Africa now, I wish I'd made the extra effort.

Great pics. I bet the Taxidermy charge would be more than $9K. Did you try any of the meat?

Nice animals. Where in South Africa did you hunt. I went last year and we're planning another trip for next summer.
