Need some help on this rifle,..dont know much about the Enfield but would like to collect a few.
On the wrist band behind the trigger it reads; MA Lithgow S.M.L.E. III * 1941 On the stock it reads MA Lithgow III* HV 1942 The bore is clean and has good rifling groves. The wood is exceptionaly good with few gouges or dents. Stock # matches the reciever #.....bolt #dont match. Very clean rifle with virtualy no surface rust. Price is $120 and would look good next to my Gibbs #7 jungle carbine. Any comments and help would be appreciated.

Lithgow is Australian. they continued to produce the No.I Mk. III* after most of the British arsenal had switched to the newer version, the #4.
