I have a Question
I have a question and i hope someone can answer it for me....if someone owns a LWRC M6A2-P Semi Automatic Pistol and a LWRC M6A2 5.56 FDE with 16 inch barrel and they swap out the upper on the pistol to the lower rifle with collapsible stock is that illegal?

I don't know what models you are talking about and I'm not going to look them up.
If you put a barrel shorter than 16" on a rifle lower (has a shoulder stock) you have made a Short Barreled Rifle (SBR) If you don't have NFA paperwork for this, you have committed a felony. ---------------------

Sounds like you'd be creating an SBR. Not sure of exactly what guns you are talking about though.
I remember seeing somewhere that you could swap the lower receiver of an original Bushmaster (Gwinn) rifle with the lower receiver of a Gwinn Arm Pistol (think early '70's) and this would have made an SBR that had to be registered. Sounds somewhat similar. |
