Any of the winchester 1892 clones good?

Id like one, been watching a lot of westerns lately and have heard its a strong, smooth action. Id like to know if any replicas/clones are very good. Going to be looking at a new gun next week once i get home.

The Rossi was very good. I don't know if they are still being made, but the one I had was great.

Doesn't Browning/Miroku make a '92 clone? I had a Puma .454 and it was a nice rifle. Quick and light, although the wood left a little to be desired. It was an excellent brush gun.

The winchester is the browning. Im wondering if the triggers are any good on these replicas too.

Used to be Rossi. Great guns, but a little plain and not as shiney as the new Chiappa(italian) made '92 repros now being sold. The great thing about rossi was the price. The Chiappa made ones are quite a bit more expensive, although have a better fit and finish.
I wish rossi still makes them. I love mine.

rossi has them on their site. Are they accurate, ammo picky, nice triggers, etc?

There aren't any bad ones. The Rossi's are good guns if a little rough. The Italians are a little better and cost more. The Winchesters and Brownings are among the best leverguns produced in recent history. The Brownings of the `80's and `90's were true to the originals, the Winchesters of recent years have a rebounding hammer and tang safety. All excellent rifles made by Miroku of Japan. The 1892 is the strongest traditional levergun action this side of the 1886. Capable of digesting loads that would grenade a Winchester or Marlin 94.

Why is that? I have looked at 1892's, and have a Marlin 1894, they are all rear locking actions.

I do know the M71 shot a high intensity round.

I really like my Rossi .45 LC , but I love the Rossi .357 Mag .

I am cheap , so I bought for price . Do not regret it . I guess I bought it to shoot , not to look at . Although I do not thinkm it looks bad .

slamfire, take a look at a marlin in 45 colt. see how thin the portion of the barrel that screws into the receiver is. any revolver has twice the meat surrounding the cartridge.
.....not condemning the gun though as I shoot more than one 94 marlin. bob

Strong, yes, but nowhere near as smooth as a '73.

Most western shows portray time frames in which a '73 would have been much more appropriate.

The Miroku made Winchester are very good quality guns. I have the ‘73 with an octagon barrel and case hardened receiver in .38/.357 and is exceptionally smooth with a good trigger. Nice wood and finish. Turns heads whenever I take it to the range.
