Smith & Wesson Model 60

I bought a S&W Model 60 and would like to know the year of manufacture. The gun has a 2 inch barrel, is stainless steel, is a .38 Special, and the serial # is R106XXX. If anyone can help confirm it's date I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

Serial numers in 1974 started with R100000 and ended in 1977 with R190000.
Willis, you are right on the money with yours.
