1943 Izzy m38 and says its a 91/38?
I recently bought a 1943 Izzy M38 Carbine. The stock is right and everything checks out besides the front sight. I think its just the wrong one! Its 3/4 inch and from the mosin identification guide, its a 91/38. That ain't right though because its 1943 and not a hex receiver. Only could get one picture to upload! Help Please

So, you're saying it has the wide front sight base instead of the narrower M38 base?
Could just be an aberration, there were a lot of changes going on at that time. No Czech barrel markings? You really need pictures- and for the experts, try over here as well: http://forums.gunboards.com/forumdis...osin-Nagant-HQ

+1 on the gunboards recommendations above. I'm always amazed how much those folks can tell you from just a few pics!
