260 Rem

What can you tell me about this round? I don't have any data for it . It was suggested on another forum that I should build a rifle in this caliber on my swede 96 action. My books are a tad bit old so it isn't in them, guess I'll need new books.

Since the .260 Rem basically duplicates the ballistics of the 6.5x55 Swedish Mauser

Why would you want to chamber the 96 Swedish Mauser (originally built for 6.5x55 Swedish) for the shorter and higher-pressure .260 Remington? If you're gonna use a Mauser action for a cartridge based off the .308 Winchester, be safe and use at least a large-ring 98 Mauser action of reputable quality. Leave the small-ring 96 Swede for low-pressure cartridges like the original 6.5x55.
