French MAS 1949 .308 Caliber Rifle
I have came into possession of a French Made MAS rifle. Over all the outside of the rifle appears in excellent condition. However. I am unable to get the bolt open. It's prevuious owner told me that it would not feed shells into the chamber. Anyone have any idea on hold to feild strip this weapon or what is holding the bolt shut?

Fivezero, I own a 49 and a couple of 49/56s. I've never seen a 49 in .308 but the field strip is the same on both models. At the rear of the receiver is a button/latch. Press down on it and push forward on the dust cover. The dust cover is moved forward and up then the bolt can be removed. George
