Glock 43 nosediving hollow points
Title says it all. I have seen other ppl on this forum with this issue and I’m wondering if the problem was ever solved. I have a stock 43 when putting certain ammo in and releasing the slide stop lever it nosedives into the barre any thoughts .

Have you tried different brands of ammo? If so, have you tried using different magazines? Does it do the same thing if you slingshot the slide instead of releasing it with the lever?

Both me and my wife both have 43's and we've never had this problem with any ammo.
Are you using the stock mags or an extended mag of some type? |

I replaced the recoil spring with a brand new one. Then I ordered 2 new magazines it seems like the sig v crown is the worst and Hornady once in a while but some Remington carry ammo works great and Fmj no problem at all about 350 rounds of Fmj no issue

Extensions for the Glock mags should include a stronger spring due to the weight difference being lifted-not always the problem but mostly.

Put at least 500 through my G43 (my daughter's now!) without any issues, including at least 50 124 gr. HST rounds. That was using 2 stock mags with +1s and a 9 shot aftermarket ETS mag.

Crazy I just feel something could be out of speck. Barrel? Who knows I’m not a Glock gunsmith. On the other hand I can try a few different things. I seen a thread a year ago on this forum they had the same issue.

Return it to stock configuration and see if you still have issues.

Talked to a Glock armorer class instructor about why Glock didn't go with higher capacity in the 43 and the response was that Glock was unsatisfied with the reliability when they tried to go with longer mags or +1/+2 floorplate extensions. According to him that is why Glock didn't offer extended mags or +1/+2 floorplates for the 43.
He did say that he had done some experimentation on his own with the Pearce magazine extensions and felt like they were reasonably reliable but didn't recommend any other types/brands. If I were in your position, I would return the magazines to the stock configuration and see if the gun is reliable in that format.

Just wondering if these 2 brand new magazines do the same thing what is next. What would be your guess. I just don’t want to send it back to glock I went through hell before sending a gun.

Welcome to TFL, Gino1986!
Like JohnKSa, I'm glad that the problem is resolved, but sorry that the aftermarket gizmos (on which you spent your hard-earned $$$) didn't work out. I'm curious, though. Was this a new or a used G43 that you got? I ask because I noticed that you changed the recoil spring.

The Glock 43 I bought was brand new. The recoil spring was changed because when this staring happening I didn’t like how the recoil spring was loose on takedown. Basically when I field stripped the gun the spring was extremely loose almost falling out. Not even in the groove at all. So my first thing was to replace the spring because I own a ton of glocks and none of them do this. But the spring was fine when shooting Fmj. So after I bought a brand new oem spring and it was still happening I bought brand new magazines and it worked fine.

The basepads I used were the taran tactical plus ones so those do not come with a spring. I was thinking of buying some new oem followed and giving that’s shot.

The fact that the recoil spring assembly is completely out of the assembly groove upon disassembly is unusual but it does not indicate any sort of a problem and should have no effect at all on function.

Funny thing is I hear a lot of good things with those. and maybe possibly I did something wrong, but I’m pretty good with this stuff. Like I said the best thing I could do is hit the range and really do some solid testing with the new oem magazines.

FYI, the reason the round nosedives in the first place is because it is a single stack.
It is explained here: https://americanhandgunner.com/nosed...e-1911-45-acp/ |
