Why are all Mags "10 rounds"???
If this has been covered already, please feel free to just point me to the thread, I didn't find it when I did my search.
I was shopping for some mags and noticed all the mags listed on eBay, regardless of their capacity, are listed as 10 round magazines. Is that an eBay requirement??? Or am I missing something??? |

Yeah, ebay says 10 round limit, but, as you can see, they don't really enforce it beyond what is likely some bot that scans auction titles.

Why Ten? Why are we working in base ten systems? The ancient Mesopotamians used a base 60 system. Sixty seconds to the minute, sixty minutes to the hour. Go back to base 60 and we would naturally think that a 60 round magazine is appropriate.
I am all for it.

Ebay does have a 10 round magazine restriction. I have been watching for Colt/Walther 1911-22 12 round magazines. The listings all say 10 round, but when you look at the picture of the packaging, some are clearly 12 rounders. Nobody ever seems to raise a stink.

Yeah I was looking for a couple more mags before our shiny new restrictions go into effect... Thank you simple minded Colorado legislature for making the bad guys safer!
The pics clearly show 20 & 30 rounders listed as 10's... More little silly "Feel good" rules someone arbitrarily put into effect... Do I sound bitter??? |

Yeah, one guy had some nice "Mk. 20", ten-round M14 mags, some time ago.

Yes, base-60 system, I like that.
Heck, base-100 even. |

Some states have a 10 round magazine restriction so it could be that ebay thinks it keeps them from getting into trouble with those states.
