Dream Guns

I would guess that I am not the only person who has ever thought about some gun & caliber combination which I would like to see on the market. I’m not talking about completely impossible fantasies - like a "plasma rifle in 40 Watt range" or a 1911 in 12 gauge – but something that would take a little engineering but should be possible.

I wish some company out there would come up with a Browning High-Power clone in 10mm. They do make them in 40 S&W so the step up to 10mm should only mean stretching the slide and frame about 0.10”. Yes, slide weight and recoil springs would need changes to handle the recoil but I can’t see how this would be impossible. I know the Canadian Inglis firm made a few prototype 45 ACP High Powers so this can’t be too hard a project.

Any other dreamers out there?

1. 440 Corbon Barrel for my Desert Eagle
2. New and improved Bren Ten (that doesn't break)
3. S&W double-stack, all stainless 10mm.
4. double-stack Boberg 9mm
5. Colt Mustang - same size, but in 9mm

Hey, I like your idea about a good quality 10mm Hi-Power. I would want it designed rugged enough to handle hot loads; high-polished blue.

1. Of course... the unicorn... a PM9-sized Glock 9mm single stack

2. A tiny thin poly 22lr auto for carry in a Levis change pocket. (5+1..A direct competitor to the NAA revolver).

3. A PM9 and P380 without the big honking slide release hanging on its side - redesign with a simple pin and internally hinged release. They can knock the corners off of the slides while they're at it too.
In short... Kahr should study the LCP a bit.

I think an M&P in 10mm could be interesting.

The Glock single stack and Glock carbine might have become jokes at this point, but they'd be neat.

I'd also like to see Beretta do a more widely distributed run of Inox Stainless 92s and 92 Compacts. A new run of 92 Compact Type L (single stack), too. Also, I'd like them to at least think about designing a .45 version of the 92.

I just posted my dream in the revolver forum but here goes again.A D/A .50 Special. with a 3in. barrel 5 shot. Solid frame with gate loading or swing out cylinder and fixed sights. Something that will put 350 grains or more of lead downrange at 750 to 850 fps. Lanyard ring would be a nice touch too. Something like the Webley Metropolitan Police in .50. Bulldog version would be nice too. 4 or 5in. versions for field carry can come later. I am sure that all the major manufacturers will be trying to contact me now for my input on the new gun.

Just to finally settle the debate, I wish Glock would make a 1911. And being something of a Glock fanboy, I would like to see Glock branch out and make some other types of guns (carbine, shotgun, revolver, etc.).

a left handed type ASP 39-2 in .357sig....

There are a few cool & practical "dream" firearms I could see buying or obtaining if I could.

A true gem would be a left hand type Paris Theodore ASP compact in .357sig caliber with maybe a stainless match grade polygonal .40 barrel. I wouldn't have the original hook style ASP trigger guard. I prefer the round type with room for gloves.
I'd also put a ambi safety on it for carry. The ASP is a classic sidearm & a updated version could really sell.

I'd like to see an affordable .22 lr single shot pistol.

Except, it would be designed as a pistol from the ground up. It would not be based on a rifle or shotgun action.

And it would have to be affordable, so I could actually buy one.

Dreaming

That S&W would bring back their 9mm, 3rd Generation line of pistols, without the silly hooked trigger guard and in all carbon steel. Blued with walnut wrap around grips and single stack. Four inch barrel length, too.

HK P30 LEM in .40Super...

If its dreams & fantasy guns, a great duty pistol or carry sidearm would be a HK P30/LEM or maybe a P30L in the wildcat .40Super caliber.

I handled a new in box, unfired P30 9x19mm at a gun show 3 weeks ago & it was very +. The P30 felt natural in both left/right hands & was very well engineered.

The .40Super like the .41AE of the early 1990s never really took off in the US market.
The .40S&W's selection by so many sworn US LE agencies & gun buyers really sealed the fate of many well designed mid-range pistol calibers; .356TSW, 9x21Dillon, .41AE, 9x23Winchester, .40Super, .400Corbon, etc.

Id really consider the P30 LEM as a sidearm if the sale price wasn't so high.

A hammer fired Glock would be neat. Keep the safety off of it though. It'd also be cool if they made a .22lr gun with the same size/controls as their other guns.

FN should make a shotgun that is magazine fed instead of tube fed.

But then there would be no Glock vs. 1911 threads and we would lose 30% of our posts here.

I would try a CZ 75 in 10mm. Maybe a modern pocket pistol in a 7.62 Tokarev would be cool

I would like Smith & Wesson to make a snubby Airweight J-frame in 9mm without the lock. I know they made a prototype years ago, but I would like to see a production gun.

I know someone made a .357 mag 1911 (I believe it was Conan or something) but it'd be pretty cool to have one in .44 Mag.

Dakota, your wish is... well, somebody's command. What you want is an EAA Witness. It's a CZ75 clone, available in 10mm...

I have no wish to own a 10mm pistol, but if I did...

^Maybe one of the Para Ordnance LDA's would cover most of that wish list?

Revolving doubleaction carbine

357 magnum and 9.3x57 share the same bullet diameter so a swap cylinder should be possible

maybe like a nagant so you could silence it?
