I have a Colt revolver marked *Officers Model 38* *Heavy Barrel* The patent dates are Aug 5,1884. July 4,1905. Oct 5, 1926.It has what appears to be original large target grips (walnut). It has a Micro rear sight with a very high two piece front sight. In the Blue Book of Gun Values by S.P. Fjestad are listed an Officer's Model Target first and second issue, an Officer's Model Special and an Officer's Model Match. I can't figure out which one I have. The serial number is 606xxx. Can anyone tell me which model I have and the year it was manufactured? Thanks. Doc

kv4v, the serial number you've posted would indicate your Colt revolver was made in 1938. This would indicate it's actually an Officer's Model Target - Third Issue. Hope this helps!
