Does Time Of Day Matter ?

Does the time of day matter what you carry? Was in a friendly debate on what do you carry. My answer was out of my carry rotation fo my SEECAMP 32.,BERETTA 21A ,RUGER SP101., OR SW MP40 C.
Something in my pocket always. With a larger pistol close by . I said you don't know what predator is lurking in your area .
HAPPY HOLIDAYS .

For five years now I have carried the same combo--primary P11 with BUG 21A Bobcat.

Not really unless you're talking sleeping. When I'm awake I carry my revolver in my pocket. When I'm napping, my pants is hanging on the bed post with my revolver in my pocket.

Most of the replies in this thread thus-far have indicated pocket-carry.

I need to see if there are any stats on CCW relative to pocket-carry ratio versus belt-carry, shoulder, ankle etc...just to satisfy my own curiosity .

Bob,

Nice piece of fine historical hardware! I just now have been getting into the cowboy shooting sport (and general historical interests in the era itself) and those iconic and still as deadly today as 'back in the day' SA revolvers are works of art!

Time of day has no bearing on what gun I carry. My carry can be seasonal and perhaps vary based on my attire but time of day, no.

OK, I just had breakfast so it's time to change my carry gun (???)

I'm sorry, but maybe I just don't get the gist of what this thread is about.

Does Time Of Day Matter ?

Absolutly...

One reason I get up so early in the morning is because it takes me a couple of hours to work the stiffness, swelling and "bloat" out of my hands & fingers.

You guys and girls that haven't felt the effects of RA &/or a host of other "miserys" can count yourself lucky.

Once I've been up and moving my hands and fingers around, things improve a lot.
Some days are better/some days are worse.
It's 9:30am right now and I've been up since 5:00am - it's also cold and damp this morning.
I can't imagine anything worse than trying to work a D/A revolver right now.

I agree with Hal. As getting older has a lot of disadvantages stiff joints ,arthritus ,to name a few .That why I have a Beretta 21a as one of my ccw pistols .

Wouldn't one simply find a gun that works for you under all conditions, then carry that ONE gun all the time? That way, it won't matter if the arthritis is flaring up, or if it's cold and damp vs warm and dry.

I understand having several guns that one might carry, and switching once in awhile, but multiple gun changes in a day seems silly.

SPARKS 1957= To answer you . Pick what you carry but carry something that is practical to your life style and surrondings.

The CC firearm I carry simply depends on how I am going to dress when I leave the house.

Time of day...not so much for me.

Time of year...I change.

Warm months it's holster pocket carried 642 or 442.

Cold months, a 45acp. either holster coat pocket or hip.

Absolutely, that makes sense. I have been known to change guns with the seasons here, where the seasonal differences are drastic, but hour-to-hour?

Ditto.

Glock 19 on my right hip (Concealment Solutions Black Mamba IWB holster, recently switched from OWB)
Ruger LCR 38 SPL in DeSantis Pocket Holster, left pocket for backup.

No rotation, except when I "dress up" for special occasions, I'll carry my 1911 in a custom sharkskin OWB.

This eases training as I only have to be able to shoot two guns and I'm not searching for controls because I'm not used to carrying something. Lots of other guns for the range though.

Time of day would only effect my choice in so much as I might wear different clothes if I were going out at night vs. the morning.
I do change my carry based on what I'm wearing, but not on the time of day specifically.

Depends...
That's one option/one way.

Boils down to what the individual feels best with - which means, I prefer some other way.

You know, I'm usually too busy to break down my CCW so finely. I carry my LCP every day. The gun is hard to shoot well and the .380 is a threshold round, but I'll tell you what, every single place I legally can, that little guy is tucked into my pocket in a Desantis Nemesis with an extra magazine tucked somewhere. I don't have to think about it at all, no matter how busy or stressed, I've always got that little guy, and he has just enough snarl to get my butt out of a bind.

I would try carrying bigger in the future, but my outfit is pretty exclusively T-shirts and jeans.
