CXr Storm Finish Scratched OFF

HI Folks, I purchased a CX4 Storm off an interenet auction site and received it with several scratches on the barrel. I have contacted Beretta and gunsmiths to redo the barrel, But my question is: Is there some home remedy or repair I can do to repair the finish (phosphate etc). instead of sending back to Beretta? thanks in advance......
