Can anyone give me his favorite load with this type (weight)of bullet and using Alliant Unique,Blue Dot or Hodgdon Universal powders ?
Problem is that none of these brands are listing lead bullet reloads in their reloading manuals.

And the reason for that, you'll find out, if you call them, is that those powder producers have tested their powders with lead bullets in the 40, and feel that pressures are either too high, or perhaps spike too erraticaly and inconsistently to be safe to use over the long run. This may be tempered by the intervention of the bean counters and the lawyers.
That said, I shoot 180gn LRN in 40 with 5.3gn AA#5 set to 1.120.
Also try plated bullets (Berry's are my choice) in 180gn with 5.0gn Bullseye set to 1.125

Try plated bullets. They're only a little more expensive than lead, won't foul your bore, and shoot as nice and accurate as copper jackets. You can use the starting load for copper jackets with quality plated bullets with great results and awesome economy! Beware the difference between plated and washed bullets, though. Plated have about 8 thousandths copper, and washed have about 2 thousadths. Use lead recipes with washed, just as for lead.
