Winchester 630 Powder

I lucked into several lbs of Win 630. I’m in process of loading 44 special and 44mg will cast HBWC 214gr bullets. Would like to use this powder if possible.
I have other powder I could use. Anyway looking for 700-750 FPS loads.
I have found 630 in couple older manuals. Not much on cast bullets. I need pointed at manual that has these Target loads listed. Most old enough to have a lot of 44sp data were before W-630 was on the market.

While I only used a limited amount of WW 630 back in the day, if you review your manuals, you will find that 630 was used for many of the same TYPES of loads as something such as today's AA#7. They have no chemical or physical relationship! They only serve SOME of the same purposes. The have no direct correlation.
At the time, Winchester was in transition with it's pistol powder formulas replacing 230 with 231 and 295 with 296. They then dropped 630 without replacement.
Like a number of spherical powders intended for full power or magnum loads, 630 is not suited for down loading for target type loads. Lower velocities with lighter than standard bullet weights would be the realm of WW231.
In addition to loading manuals of the 1970's, Ken Waters used 630 in a few of his Pet Loads of the period. Winchester also published data in their "handout" manuals which could possibly be online.

Take a look at this thread. Post #7 has a .PDF of a circa 1975 Winchester brochure with 630 data. Read the whole thread - several people cited revolver erosion as the reason Winchester dropped that powder. Whether they're right or not, I have no idea.
