Any of the factory loads of 170 grains or more are ok for black bear.
Heavier bullets will suit you better than light ones.

Federal 170 gr Hi-Shoks would work just fine.

Black bear are not much harder to kill than a whitetail deer. Unless you run into a record book bruin, that would require a quality bonded core bullet or the heavier bullets for your caliber. I prefer well constructed bullets that are on the lighter end for deer and bear. More velocity imparting more destruction to the vital organs is my reasoning. I use a 243 win with 100 gr bullets or a 30-06 with 165 gr bullets, both remington core locked. Both guns shoot them into nice little groups (hitting the bear where you want to is more important than bullet design). Shoot your gun with different loadings and use the one that gives the best group.

Standered Remington core lock should work fine.

"...run into a record book bruin..." Even then, any 8mm Mauser load will do nicely. You will have to try a box of as many brands and bullet weights as you can to find the ammo your rifle shoots best though.

Any soft point hunting ammo sold will do the job. I'm a 196 grain man myself but a lot of black bears have decided to die after being shot by a 150 grain 30-30 round so you would be hard pressed to find a load for your 8 that won't work. Don't overthink it, just get some practice in and go hunting with whatever you have...just as long as it isn't FMJ.

S&B's thumped pretty hard; I'd bet my life that they'd stop a bear.

30-06 and 8x57 are pretty close to each other. Since it is bruins that you are talking about, a good bullet in the 180-200gr. will work quite well.

Heavy bullet, soft tip. Don't use ball ammo. If you have a scope on the rifle, you won't need it.

Europeans load the 8mm or 7.9mm to 30-06 performance and trajectory. In contrast, Remington ammo is barely faster than the oldy (but goody) 32 Special. Any Europe-made ammo is up to the task for long distance work. Up close, say under 150 yards or so, I'd go with Remington core-lokt because I used to know a Shepard in Wyoming that shot many elk with his old German Mauser and Remington ammo. None got away!
