Parts for Remington 742
I need someone's expert help. Bear with me, I don't know the technical name for the part I need, but...it is the, possibly extractor, that is on the rifle that you manually pull to send a round from the clip to the chamber. You also use it to eject a round from the chamber. Its the little handle, tang, thing. Anyway, Remington no longer carries parts for the 742 and since mine is broke, I need any help finding someone that carries parts for no longer made guns. I plan to give this to my son as a hand me down, first deer rifle. Lord knows its been a good one to me.
Thanks and God bless. SBG |

go to www.e-gunparts.com/ and look it up. They should have a schematic for you as well. This sounds like what you are talking about. The schematic should help you if it isn't.

Thanks Country Boy! I ain't that good with scematics, but that appears to be what I need. I guess the Operation Handle is sorta equivalent to the bolt in a bolt action???
