Whew, I would love to have one of these. Being a newbie to the forum I have had a hard time finding out what some of the Acronyms are meaning

RBKA= the Right to Keep and Bear Arms.

FFL= Federal Firearms Licsense.
LEO= still searhing the net for this one and have since been unsuccesful.

Also what about desgnations for guns and forms that are filled out?
4473 forms?
1911 = I still have no idea what it is.

The reason I ask about an acronym page is because in my newbie status of owning a gun and learning new stuff all the time I dont want to be branded a newbie or chided for my current knowledge gun lingo by the population here.

Thank you for your time.

Mr. B,

Here's a glossary of computer terms:
http://www.matisse.net/files/glossary.html

For more terms, you can use a search engine such as dogpile: www.dogpile.com or a host of others.

You're in trouble, bub! This darned internet thing can be contagious and chronic!

Have fun!

SENSOP is putting together a list of acronyms that are used here at TFL. Should be done rather soon by now...

Those are very helpful links, Dennis. I learned quite a bit at the Matisse page.

I have a list of acronyms that I've seen on TFL from time to time. I have passed that list on to another TFL member who is compiling the "definitive" TFL list of acronyms and abbreviations. We hope to eventually post the list, or make it a permanent reference somewhere on the site.

Of course, Sensop will have to get his mind off mannequins before he can complete this project.

TBM,

You and Dennis have been very patient, I will concede. Check your email.

BTW, I see this as a growing, living document. Just like the Constitution.

Many thanks to sensop and TheBluesMan for the contribution. You'll find the Acronym List is linked at the top of each page. It's permanently listed in the Library.

A few others I would add to the list

1) CRPA - should be amended to include California Rifle and Pistol Assoc.

2) FUMP - F*ckup of Massive Proportions

3) POTUS - President of the United States

4) SCOTUS - Supreme Court of the United States

5) KMA - Kiss my *ss
