Rossi Rio Grande 410 - Any Good?

Hello, all. Just curious: does anyone own one of these? Are they as troublesome to load as I've been told? Is it smooth bore?
Thanks,
Bill

Good for shooting 410 I'd surmise from the question.

Shooting a .410 at what?
As a repeater, it's slower than anything but a bolt action or single shot.
For HD, there are better/cheaper choices.
It's totally inappropriate for wing shooting.
Its short barrel and fixed choke restrict its use as a multipurpose gun.
It might be appropriate as a pre-rifle for a youngster; but, the reviews indicate it takes adult strength to load the thing.
It seems to have great potential as a wall hanger/closet queen.

So far, reviews of this gun seem all negative. But, I just may be able to get one for below cost in a .01 auction on Gunbroker.com. And, it'll only function reliably with 2.5" shells.

Range Report

I was finally able to locate one of these in Stainless Steel for $380 off Gunbroker.com. So far, I've run about 120 rounds through, 80% of which has been 000 buckshot. The only problem I had was an occasional Failure to Extract fired rounds and this only happened with some old Italian made ammo ( probably distorted rims). Federal 000 ran 100% so did Remington #8. Recoil was manageable, but it did knock the rear buckhorn sight out of adjustment. Anyways, made a lot of 40 cal holes in targets and spray cans!
