Wards Western Field 22 Bolt action Rifle

I have a Wards Western Field 22 bolt action rifle with a tubular magazine model 24M 495B. It needed a good cleaning, so I removed the bolt and now I can not seem to get the bolt back in the receiver. Does anyone know how to perform this action? Are there any places that have assembly/ disassembly instructions? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Pete.

Not familiar with model, but will mention a couple things.

Make sure the bolt is cocked. Pull trigger during assembly. Some rifles may have a lever or button that needs to be depressed. Good luck.

Your model cross references to a Mossberg model 45b made in 1942. The 24 in the model number is the year 42 stamped backwards.

Try asking your question here http://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums/index.php and look in the mossberg section. If they can't help there no one can.

Pull trigger during assembly.
That would be my primary suggestion and I'm familiar with this rifle ...
