I.A.B. Sharps Sporting rifle

i recieved a used .54 I.A.B. Sharps Sporting rifle...I am told that I.A.B. Sharps rifles DO NOT have a sliding gas seal sleeve in the barrel.
My Pedersoli Sharps has a sleeve in the barrel that must be cleaned after a shooting session....THE I.A.B. looks identical to the sharps at the breach...I can see the sleeve lip at the breech.
Other people have told me that the I.A.B has a "fixed" sleeve that dosent move....
Id like to know if there is a sleeve and is it supposed to move
I gotta know before I shoot it....please help
