live from the turkey woods!
Crops are all in, 5 days left to kill a bird. Its about 70 and the sun is just below the tree tops. Hens are talking but no gobbling yet. Some birds just flew down about 60 yards from me but haven't made it to the field edge yet...... More to come!

Well I couldn't figure out why the birds wouldn't come into the field after they flew down, and why one of them sounded real sickly. Turns out the sickly one was a tresspasser who "thought he had permission to hunt here". So I'm going to move locations and put on a stalk.

Anybody have any advice for mid morning? Its getting hot and the woods is dead silent. Its supposed to be 95 today and there's not a cloud in sight.

Make up a "turkey fight" sometimes I could get a gaggle of birds to respond to a great big ole "dust-up"!!
