Putting Irons on A Ruger M77
I have a Ruger M77 Hawkeye SS in .30-06. I would like to put Irons on it. I know a company makes a peep sight for the scope mount, so the rear sight is covered. How would I go about doing the front? Is this territory only good gunsmiths should tread? What does it entail? Any help would be appreciated. Steve

The last time I looked into it, you could get the same base Ruger uses for the 77's from Brownells. They had a number of different banded front sight setups broken down by barrel diameter. I'd suggest having a 'smith put it on to prevent the base being canted.

Thanks, I didn't even think to check Brownell's. I like the scope, but it is nice to know you have irons too. Steve
