Saw that on the news tonight, apparently a second manager tried to explain that they were off duty cops but it was too late.
I personally witnessed an even stupider act, I may have posted it before so forgive me if I repeat. Several years ago at a Wal-Mart store, a uniformed female State Highway Patrol officer stopped at the aforemention store, I believe she had something like a loaf of bread and gallon of milk, something anyone on their way home might do. Being fully uniformed she was obviously armed, as she was checking out, a "manager" appeared and explained that they don't allowed the carry of firearms in their store and she would have to leave, I am sure I had the same look on my face as she did two lanes away "SAY WHAT", I am not even sure she said anything but the manager was quite insistent, she paid for her items, and was escorted to the door by the stupidest manager any wal-mart anywhere has ever hired. Even the check-out person had a shocked look on her face. Sometimes you see stuff that just makes you shake your head. |

If the LEO is there on official business the owner of the store cannot prohibit the LEO from bring their guns. That would be interfering with the police.
Now off duty I guess they can prohibit them. Still that is the most stupid 'gun free zone' of them all! But folks, that won't happen in TEXAS (at least I hope we don't go the way of California or Illinois and do such stupid things.) Deaf

Originally the Belleville police chief ordered his officers to not eat at Denny's, and only go there to respond to an emergency call. After Denny's apologized, saying that it was a misunderstanding by the manager on duty, he recended that order.
There has been no other word on any disciplinary actions taken against the dumbest manager in the Denny's chain.

Just curious why you would classify uniformed police officers as "government goons" |
