Good .308 factory load for Elk?

Have a DPMS AP4 .308. I want a good round for Elk hunting. Most shots are close range (under 80 yards) but occassionally I could be shooting up to 350 yards +. Thus, I thought something around 165 grain would be a good compromise.

I want a good Elk round that will have essentially the same trajectory as some cheaper BULK ammo that I can plink with. I want to shoot the premium stuff at elk and then cheaper stuff to plink (can I use plink when talking about a .308?) without having to re-sight my scope.

1. Name good elk round (factory load)
2. Name cheap bulk cartridge that will have same trajectory.

*Eventually I will handload for this but humor me for now.
