Friend needs a shorter shotgun
She shot my Nova 20ga for the first time at trap today. Did fairly well considering how long the stock is, but she wants something much shorter.
Is an 870 youth stock on the right track? We're not looking to spend more than about $200-250 right now. EDIT: Also saw the Mossberg Bantam. Seems to look more like a true 'youth' model with the forearm closer as well. |

Both the Remington 870youth and the Mossberg 500Bantam are excellent. The Remington 870youth can be found very easily at chainstores, you can also catch the on sale at at sporting goods store like Dick's or others around $200.00. The best way to get the Mossberg 500Bantam is to look at Guns America, just make sure you're buying from a Dealer and not a private person!

A Remington 870 Marine Magnum is a good shotgun. it has an 18" barrel and a 7 shot magazine.

I believe that there is also a replacement butt-pad for the Nova offered by Benelli the has a shorter LOP than standard.
