Great restoration. We had to reblue guns in our bluing class and our instructor did not want us to do production style bluing like at Lassen College. Instead we concentrated on polishing with very little assistance from the machines.
I used a S&W Victory for my project that still had mill marks on it. All the milling marks were removed but I didn't have enough time to remove all the scratches. (I was concurrently trying to get it to work at the repair class - it had a replacement barrel and the cylinder would lock up against it. It also had a timing issue and needed a new center pin that I had to machine).

I actually bought a bunch of guns for cheap....could've bought more. A local gun store was clearing out inventory of beaters, parts guns and just plain ugly guns.
I bought the following: The Marlin 25M for $10 A Savage/Stevens 325A in 30-30 for $10 A J.C. Higgins model 36 (semi-auto .22 rifle) for $10 A 1980s vintage Marlin model 60 for $50 (has the 18 round magazine and the LSHO) A nice 1955 vintage 870 Wingmaster for $150 My Father bought Ruger Mark II for $125 My Son in law bought: A 6.5mm Arisaka Carbine with intact mum for $50 (needs correct stock and refinishing) A Hungarian (FEG) Hi-Power copy for $150

Looks great! What did you use to refinish the stock? I have a Marlin 81DL that I tried to refinish years ago and it didn't turn out all that well. I now have a garage and work space again so I am thinking of stripping it all down again.
