Remington semi for SD

Which would make a better social autoloader, the 1100 or 11-70?
Pros/cons?
You can put extended tubes on these, right?

Both the 1100 and 11-87 are fine guns. Your pocket book and local availability are probably the deciding factors. There are a few police model 11-87s starting to show up around here.

IMHO, the 11-87 is the better SG, but not by much.

Yes you can put extended tubes on 11/87's. I put the ten round extension on the one I had. It would hold 10+1 2.75" shells, 9+1 3" shells 0r 8+1 3" slugs

I think it was a Tac-Star tube, paid 50 bucks for it.

With Giz on this one. Both are good, the 87 may have a slight edge due to ammo flexibility.

Some Police 87s have trouble with lighter loads. Use something heavier that a trap load in these and all should be well.

If I were to abandon all my 870s and put together a Semi auto "Serious" shotgun, in all likelyhood it would be on the 87 frame. Not likely to happen, tho.
