Black powder frame vs. Cross pin frame

Any real advantage/disadvantage between a SAA black powder frame and a cross pin frame? (other than the necessity of a screw driver).

To me, the method of basepin retention is not that important. What is important are the sights. The blackpowder frame has a tapered, pointy front sight and a V-shaped "pinched frame" rear sight. A configuration more reminiscent of the percussion guns and cartridge conversions of same. The later "smokeless" frame has a square notch and appropriately shaped front sight. It's a much more usable setup.

I've got two bp frames and I kinda like the sights but then I shoot percussion too.
