Undo the knurled knob on the front of the magazine tube, twist barrel and remove.

Nemesis,

Thanksa bunch...I feel like such a dumbazz. I wanted to take the plug out so I can load up with 5 rounds. The gun is from 1947 and it had the factory installed wooden dowel plug. Neat stuff.

I have a 20 gauge model 37 also made in 1947. It has the factory wooden plug in it, and I leave it there. The gun is so light that it does not balance right with 5 shells in it. I don't hunt anything that I need 5 shells for anyhow. I use the gun mostly on doves, and they require the plug, so....... Great guns!

You can download the Model 37 manual at www.ithacagun.com, or order a printed copy.
