Ordered Garand, CMP back log not too bad...
Shooters:
I got all paper work together and sent my order for a Garand in to CMP this morning. Before I mailed it, I called to see if it would be okay to send it certified mail. Nice lady named Melissa said sure, and that they were behind a bit, currently working on orders that came in October. As today is Dec. 1, that's not really all that bad. So in the mean time I'm looking for ammo, planing to make some ammo, and learning everything I can about the Garand. Life is good. Prof Young |

Congrats!
"In my opinion, the M-1 rifle is the greatest battle implement ever devised" -G.S. Patton Jr. And, as long as it's taken in context, I'd have to agree. Probably my favorite firearm. I don't even take it out that often anymore, I just like it.

I got one from CMP around two years ago. I went with one of their specials ,repark, new barrel and wood. I wanted a shooter more than a collectable piece.
Couldn't be happier . Looks and shoots great. May be my favorite rifle. |

You will not be disappointed!
Just for posterity, have someone take a picture or video of you have you finished the first clip. Everyone I have shoot mine invariably produces the garand grin as the clip pings from the rifle. |
