Is there a boutique ammo supplier that offers this for non handloaders?

I can only think of Winchester, Remington, or Federal factory match .45. Either the 185 JSWC or 200 gr. lead.
Both are among the most expensive varieties in that caliber though.

Saw in another post you are looking at knocking out a few reloads with a hand set from Lee.
That gear would be an ideal application to making your own .45s.
3.5 - 3.7 grs. of Bullseye with the 200gr. LSWC is a pleasant and usually accurate revolver load that handles like a great big .22.

The bore diameter on the .455 guns is slightly larger than
45 acp. I'm going to try some 185 gr Berry's HBRN plated
with a light load of bullseye in my converted .455 S&W
Hand Ejector.

Edited: Probably low velocity 185 grain lead target loads.

Some Webley Mk VI's have blown with standard .45 ACP loads, which run 21k psi, half again more than the standard 12-14k psi of the original .455 load.

I am well aware that some of those old guns have been fired many times with .45 ACP with no problem, I don't recommend it since every round is heavier than the .455 proof load.

Just in case folks think this is some kind of recent scare story, in 1916 the War Office warned against firing the .455 Webley Auto cartridge (which has about the same pressure as the .45 ACP) in any service revolver, including the Mk VI.

The short version: SAAMI pressure for 455 Webley is 13200. SAAMI pressure for 45 ACP is 19000. Every standard 45 ACP is like shooting a proof load of 455.

If you have a 455 that's been converted, only shoot VERY light 45 ACP loads with LEAD bullets in it.

Exactly my train of thought. I also have a triple lock converted to .45 ACP on the way so it could feed that pup as well. When I first got mine I fired some standard generic UMC ball and it was dead on and very accurate and no problems. Nevertheless, I don't want to risk damage on the grand ole gal.
