Wow...I bet that's a handfull! (10mm Derringer)

A co-worker and I were chatting about guns and he told me about his most recent purchase, an American Derringer Stainless in 10 mm.

Now I'm a pretty big 10mm fan but the idea of that cartridge in a small "derringer" package makes me cringe.

Anyone else fired one of these critters? What did you think of it?

Not personally...

But it can't be much worse than .45 Colt in a derringer platform

Glen -- Did he buy for bear defense

Why would a bear bother carrying a derringer.

Any average size bear should be able to carry a full-size 10mm.

While I have given quite a bit of thought to bearing arms, I had never even considered the idea of armed bears...until now. Now I have something else to worry about.

As far as a 10mm derringer- that is just scary.

The recoil of a 10mm and 357 mag is close IMHO. My American Derringer 357 is heavier than my M&P 340 was and both of them hurt when shooting full tilt boogie loads. My AD is fun to shoot with 38s.

If you think a 10 mm derringer is bad, try a .45-70 derringer! Ouch!
