Ruger American .450 BC
Bought a new Ruger American .450 BC with a 22" barrel today, That makes 4 of these in my family. Sucks the snot out of White Tails and tracking jobs are rather short

I wanted to build an AR pistol in that caliber, but I think it may be too much of a good thing.

Friend of mine manages a gun store and he can literally select and use whatever he wants to hunt with--and that's what he uses to hunt with (his is the plastic one with the 16" barrel I think). He's tried talking me into getting one and I've been very sorely tempted--but I already built an AR in 458 socom so it's hard for me to justify.

Nanuk,
I did too, and recently took the plunge. Windham sells a factory model with a 9" barrel, but I went with a 12".

Got a pile of deer killing tools and really like a TC Encore in .357 Max in rifle length but woke up the other mourning and thought a another .450 BC was in order.

stag'
Thanks for your concern... I haven't adopted the run and gun grip style so it would be unlikely for me to position my hand that far forward... not impossible of course but hopefully the sling and front sight will stop me if I get that sloppy. (also not a fan of the AFGs)
