Wagonman says it right!

It's JUST like the old adage: You CAN take the country boy out of the country, but you CAN'T take the country out of the country boy! Once you've genuinely developed a police officer's MINDSET, it's PERMANENT!

You won't go looking for trouble, but if IT comes LOOKING for YOU, "Katie bar the door"!

CCW Badge

Do youz think you be the POLICE? Bad idea!!!!! The badge is USELESS Means nothing, the permit in your wallet/ pocket is all you need. Someone see's you flashing that CCW badge and notifies the police you will be charged with impersonating the man. Do not pass go, do not collect $200 and get to stay in the gray bar hotel. Maybe even lose you CCW permit and possibly the right to own any firearms in the future.

What possible purpose would a badge like that serve? 100 of those badges can not substitute for your ccw permit.

badges

If you are going to carry and flash a cereal box badge, you might as well also get a Wyat Earp hat to go with it, make the outfit complete.

Guys, this has come up several times over the last few years, and every time, the opinion is almost unanimous: It ain't a good idea.

Further, those who defend it stand firm, and it invariably descends into a peeing contest.

The noise here is starting to outweigh the signal, making it head in that direction. Best we close this one, methinks.
