Beretta 9000s

I picked up this little 9mm Beretta recently. The magazine holds 12 rounds, and it is small enough to slip into my front jeans pocket in the well made Sam Andrews pocket holster.

Llama Especial III-a in .380
Also have a slide and barrel for .32ACP, but for carry it's the .380
It's a miniaturized 1911 and just feels good in the hand.

Sometimes an FEG .380

Kahr PM9 until my wife takes it back (bought it for her anyway) - pinky extension is removed for actual pocket carry:

Once I get this Kahr PM40 broken in it will be my full time carry piece now that it's getting warmer here in GA:

For times when carrying is limited to an hour or less, and clothing permitting, I carry a G39:

I may sell the Glock if the PM40 is reliable and accurate. The Glock is my pure shooter of the bunch, but it's just fatter than I desire to carry since the Kahrs have me spoiled.

Depending on the "occasion"

- Springer EMP 9mm for nicer days and nights out and about.
- Glock G19 for the beater.
- Kel-Tec P32 for when I can't.

Carry Weapons

When I am by myself, I carry my Kel-Tec P3AT.
When my children or wife is with me, I carry my MK40.
Occasionally I carry my Sig 2340.
Every once in a while I carry my EAA Witness in 10mm.

But I always carry one of the above.

Most commonly my retirement CCW weapon is one or another S&W J-frame. Why? Because I can shoot them well and their overall small size and light weight makes them work well with my daily activities and clothing choices.

For those instances when my activities and travel take me places where I feel a larger weapon might be more suitable, for one reason or another, or just because I feel like it upon occasion, I carry one of several metal or plastic-framed pistols of various make/model/caliber. I train with so many of them that I just don't have a particular 'favorite'. Many I 'favor', but not to the exclusion of a number of others.

I suppose I could append my earlier comments a bit.

For some months when I wasn't doing more than occasional and comparatively 'light' range sessions, I was carrying either a J-frame, or else a G26/27 or 3913 when I felt a larger, heavier gun might be more practical, or at least desirable.

Since I'm back up to again shooting approx 500 - 1,000 rounds per month (after a brief hiatus from working as a firearms instructor & armorer after my retirement), I'm back to carrying one or another of a number of different pistols with which I'm again doing a fair amount of shooting.

For example, I'm now somewhere between the 1,500 - 2,000 round point with my M&P 40c, having been working with it to reach the same familiarity and level of performance I prefer when using a light gun chambered in the harder recoiling .40 S&W cartridge.

Just the other day another instructor wandered over after watching me doing some rapid shooting & movement drills with my M&P 40c, asking me if I was shooting one of my 9mm's. It seems he thought I'd been shooting a 9mm because of the speed and accuracy I'd demonstrated (he's seen me shoot some of my smaller 9mm's). He was surprised it was a .40, and I was pleased that it had seemed to him like I was shooting my .40 fast, controllably and acurately enough to make it appear I was shooting one of my 9mm's.

Snappy little guns, the smaller .40's ...

The plus side of working with them is that it seems to improve my shooting with my 9mm's and .45's.

Carry gun?

Wilson Combat 1911 (CQB) or Glock 19 most of the time. Now and then I like a change and carry my S&W Model 60 (3" barrel).

It depends on the conditions...

Daylight and nice part of town: Walther PPK/S

Night and/or not-so-nice part of town: Les Baer Custom Carry 1911

Back country while hunting or hiking: S&W Mod. 25 6 inch in .45 Long Colt (Well, OK, that's one's only partially concealed )

I'm curious to see how this turns out, Dwight.

My Carry Favorite!

The Glock 26 with 10 or 12 round mag. I also have a Glock 19 (Duty weapon) and a Glock 30SF. I love them all because I can trust my life to my Glocks that always go bang all the time.
