Rifle Forum Division?
May I suggest that The Firing Line divide the Rifle Forum in two? I enjoy reading many of the posts, but find it difficult to focus on "sporting" riflery with the myriad "tactical" or "military" threads. Obviously these threads are important, but equally relevant discussions on sporting rifles often are obscured.
Perhaps "The Art of Sporting Rifles?" "The Craft of Tactical Weaponry?" Maybe "Sporting Rifles" and "Military Rifles" would do. Anyway, it would be up to the users to figure out where to post those bridge questions like "Can I hunt with a Garand?" Last edited by Chipster; June 9, 2002 at 01:36 PM. |

Aside from local laws to the contrary.......nearly any military small arm has and has had sporting application.
And, conversely, nearly all "sporting" arms have been used in military situations. I think there is tremendous overlap in both directions. And we do have a seperate forum for full auto capable weapons. I just pass by the threads that don't tweek my interest. Just my tuppence worth. Sam |
