modifying a Lee .308 neck sizing die to 7.62x54R

I have modified my Lee .308 neck sizer to work with the Russian cartridge.
I had a motorcycle bolt that was exactly .309 O.D., and I created a sizing shaft out of it. This results in the neck being sized correctly for the .312 cast bullets I shoot in my Mosin. I used a 1/8" thick washer to activate the collet a little early, so that the shoulder bump feature doesn't get involved (the .308 shoulder is shorter and sharper than the 54R). I got lucky with the bolt...being exactly the right diameter for the job. I cut the head off it with a jewelers saw and ground down the nut to less than half its width, so that I could screw the cap on the die OK. I decap the cases with a decapping rod from a .30 cal lee loader kit. Hope somebody can get something out of this.
