New Henry Big Boy

Two weeks ago I picked up a new Henry Big Boy in 357/38 Special. I took it out to the farm field today and sighted it in. Happily, it was dead on right out of the box. I started shooting at about 70 feet, then moved to 100 feet and finished at about 150 feet. I shot sitting using my knee as support and standing unsupported. Next week I'll work on longer distance. The rifle shot flawlessly and I have to say that recoil was very soft. It's dead on and a beautiful rifle.

While I was there, I ran 2 magazines through my Kahr PM9. It's my everyday carry gun and I hadn't fired it for a couple of months. It ran great too!

It was a good day!

Toss a scope on it for some extended fun. Those buckhorn sights are tough at longer ranges ... enjoy your new toy. It’s a great gun.

Congratulations! I’m a recent convert to Henry and I haven’t looked back.

Nice! I like the detail in the chequering too. Careful with that brass--or you just might want to scratch it now and get it over with.

Good choice, RetiredMajor. Henry's are excellent lever guns.
