I've been trying to track down a leather scabbard for my Marlin which will work for hiking. It needs to have a strap for over-the-shoulder carry and some means of connecting it to the outside of a backpack. It should also have a flap. I've found a ton of scabbards for horses, but none for hikers. Am I going to have to make my own?

Why don't you just modify a saddle scabbard?
