Colt SAA P1840
If Santa brought you a NIB, unfired, unturned Colt SAA P1840 in .45 Colt, would you put it away in mint condition or fire it, clean, and use it like your other shooters?

Rey, it depends on how many bp guns you have. If it's the only one you've got and you don't have the ducats to buy another (like an Italian replica) or don't have friends who can loan you theirs or don't have the inclination to buy another, go ahead and shoot it. As for myself, I have several Rugers so I'd probably not shoot the Colt.

Fire it, use it for 20 or so years...than give it to a relative or friend...keep the tradition going. And give it a history more than just a being a pristine piece of metal
