Shot my first Garand match!

Shot my first actual rifle match at DownEastGarand Shooters on Saturday in Grimesland NC. My rifle was shooting to the right and I tried to compensate because my rear sight got a little loose for adjustment. I primarily used the match to get used to running my Garand under match conditions. I have shot IDPA and Appleseed before so I had an idea what it would be like. The courses of fire and relays were new to me. First time I had ever worn a shooting jacket and glove. It was Eastern NC hot and nasty with a 10 mph breeze. My elbows were killing me as I didn't wear a shirt under my jacket. Great bunch of guys that really helped me out. My Garand ran like a Swiss watch. Smooth as silk. I will be back.

I managed a 231 and 209 for an average of 220 even though I completely fell apart on the final offhand stage. At least I wasn't last place!!
