Hot 460 S&W Loads
Flipping through my Lyman 50th the other day I noticed all the load data for 460 S&W with H100/296 topped out around 54 to 56,000 PSI for all bullet weights. Online load data is the same way.
I thought the 460 was a 65,000 PSI load. Why can't I find any load data a little closer to 65,000 PSI? |

Probably because that cartridge is a monster. They are being on the conservative side

Maybe, I sure have a blast busting 12" rocks with 325 grain hard casts on top of 42 grains of H110. Supposedly well over 1800 FPS and *only* 54,900 PSI. Fun as all get out. I would kind of like to rev it up a little just for kicks...

Sure is, A Buddy of Mine at work has one, I was really surprised at how light the recoil felt but it is a massive hand gun. The Compensator def helps a bunch. I only shot 5 rds which was $20.00 worth of factory ammo.
Its not a very practical cartridge, but sure is a “blast” too shot . lol |

Can reload for well under $1 so it's a little less unaffordable haha.
