9mm Largo Safe Pressure Limit Question
Hi, Gents!
Hey, I'm loading for a Star Modelo Super in good condition. It's in 9mm Largo. First question - what's the safe "factory published" working pressure for this handgun? Loading data is spotty, and I KNOW I can't load it to 9x23 Winchester pressures, but the Steyr loading data is, I believe, way below what the Largo can do in a Star Super. Second question - didn't they make the Modelo Super in 38 Super? Or am I imagining that? Thanks! |

Star Info...
This may assist you in finding more about what was produced when and how to check proof marks and other facts for your Star pistol.
http://star-firearms.com/cgi-bin/gm1/index.shtml There is nothing showing a 38 Super Auto. The 9mm Largo was sometimes marked as 9mm Largo/38 ACP which means the old Colt .38 Automatic Colt Pistol round. Which should never be confused with the higher pressure .38 Super Auto. The 5th Edition Sierra manual has load data for the 9mm Largo for 90 gr, 95 gr, 115 gr and 125 gr bullets. Page 741 - 743
